I support the right of all citizens to assemble. I support measured actions by police officers to protect members of the public and private property and do not condone the use of excessive force by either demonstrators or police.

I am interested in matters relating to public safety and would be very interested in serving as a member of the Police Services Board. In fact, I have devoted an entire section of my platform to public safety and security issues. (See Issues & Ideas section of my Web site – www.jfclaude.ca – to download a copy of my platform.) In short, I am advocating the creation of a Public Safety Fund initiative -- funding for which would come from unpaid and uncollected fines owed to the City, which would then be reinvested to give law enforcement officials the tools they need to help further protect our community.
