Hello Members of the Panel

I would like to make a short presentation to the Citizens Panel on Thursday February 28th.

I was present at the "snake March" on November 16th and the demonstration on the 17th.

I have been attending, and sometimes organizing, demonstrations and public events in Ottawa for over 25 years and I was very concerned by the activities of the police during the activities in November, 2001.

I was very interested to see that, in contrast to many of the other locations, there was virtually no security presence at the Supreme Court Building where the rally and speeches were held. Notably there were no problems without the heavy intimidating police presence.
