My message is to the Ottawa Police and Chief Bevan and is essentially a note of thanks for your handling of events during the G8 Meeting in Ottawa. You were able to avoid the situations which caused so much destruction in Seattle and Quebec City.

Do not let pressue by a few malcontents force you to apologize for doing your duty and protecting the property of the citizens of Ottawa and keeping the peace.

Your officers are a credit to Ottawa and you personally are doing a tremendous job. Chief Bevan, you have many supporters in the city, do not let a few whiners bully you into saying you are sorry for doing your job.

You are the best Chief of Police we have had in a long time.
